At California Preparatory College, our program is open to all individuals interested in pursuing a Pharmacology certificate, providing a valuable opportunity to gain specialized knowledge in healthcare. However, for those aiming to obtain Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) certification by leveraging their Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience, it is important to note that specific requirements must be met. Through the CA BVNPT Method #5, CNA experience can be utilized towards meeting these criteria, enabling a streamlined transition to becoming an LVN.

2. Create an Account: To get started, once you visit https://apply.capreparatorycollege.com/ create an account by entering your email address and setting a password. This will allow you to save your application progress and complete it at your convenience. For accessing our online program materials, a Google account is necessary. We recommend using an existing Google account for enrollment, or creating a new one if you don't already have one. To ensure effective communication, please use the same email address for all your interactions with California Preparatory College.

3. Complete the Application Sections: Fill in your personal details, educational background, and work experience. Be sure to provide accurate information as this will be used to assess your eligibility for the CNA to LVN program. Your application will automatically save, enabling you to return and finish it at your convenience as you collect the required information.

4. Choose Your Class Format:

Online Classes: Study from the comfort of your home with one class per week. The online format offers flexibility and accessibility, allowing you to complete coursework at your convenience. Instructors are available by phone or chat Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, for support. *Please note that we do not offer a hybrid option (combined online/in-person).

In-Person Classes: Attend physical classes every Saturday from 8 am to 2 pm in Riverside, CA. Experience a traditional classroom environment with interactive learning and immediate instructor feedback. Limited seating is available. 5. Submit Required Documents: Upload any necessary documents, such as proof of your CNA experience, high school diploma or equivalent, and any other relevant certifications.

6. Submit Your Application: Review your application thoroughly before submitting it. Ensure all fields are filled out correctly and all necessary documents are attached.

7. Pay the Application Fee: Submit the required application fee to secure your spot in the program.

After we receive your application, it will move into the decision stage for review. You'll be notified of the outcome once the review process is complete.

Program Syllabus:

Semester 1: Pharmacology
In our pharmacology course, you’ll cover the basics of drug classifications, how drugs work in the body, and medication administration techniques. You’ll learn to identify drug interactions and side effects, understand medication needs for different patient groups, and apply your knowledge through practical case studies. The course also includes an overview of legal and ethical issues in pharmacy practice, providing a solid foundation for effective medication management and patient care.

Semester 2: NCLEX-PN Review
This semester focuses on preparing students for the NCLEX-PN exam through comprehensive reviews of nursing interventions and test-taking strategies. The review is tailored to meet the needs of students aiming to excel in the Next Generation NCLEX-PN exam.

CA BVNPT Application Seminar
We guide students through each line of the application, ensuring thorough understanding and adept completion of all its components. Additionally, we conduct a comprehensive review of your application to identify and rectify any errors prior to submission to the BVNPT.
